In the more than 200 years since Clerks of Courts were created by the Ohio Constitution, the responsibilities of the Clerk have grown immensely and are extremely varied. Below are the fundamental responsibilities of the Butler County Clerk of Courts.
This is notice that the Court of Common Pleas of Butler County is planning the destruction of evidence or exhibits, which were submitted in the below captioned cases. This notice is pursuant to the Ohio Supreme Court Rules of Superintendence Rule 26(F), as well as IR 2023 02 0095 that establishes the court records management and retention schedule. The evidence is scheduled to be destroyed sixty (60) days from the date of this notice.
A letter is sent from the “Tax Processing Unit, Butler County Public, Judgment Records.” The letter informs the recipient that he or she has a collection action. The recipient is told to call a toll-free number “to avoid enforcement.” The person on the phone then attempts to get personal information. This is a scam.
